Sky Ranch Flyers R/C Flying Club
is a "not-for-profit" radio-controlled model aircraft club
formed in the
early 1990’s to promote the sport and hobby of flying R/C airplane
and helicopter models. |
|
The home of the Sky
Ranch Flyers is a
"Federally Licensed
Airport", the
Hahn Sky Ranch Airport (2T5) located six miles west of West
Bend on
Highway D, which we have been flying since the last 1980's.
We are chartered by the
Academy of Model Aeronautics, Chapter
VII #2883.
Our club offers the following:
- A casual
flying environment to fly Gas, Glow and Electrics
- Experienced
builders and R/C pilots.
- Large open
flying site with a shelter, work tables and ample parking,
and electricity.
- Events that
the entire family can enjoy.
- Training is
available so your first flight does not end up in a crash.

News from the
Flying Field:
July 20, 2010:
Jim Steinmetz ran into some trouble Tuesday night, and lost an
Accura Deep East of the flying field. A six man rescue
crew attempted recovery, but they were only able to find the
wing. Later that night, the owner of the house southeast
of the field showed up and
had Jim's plane - or what was left of it. Thank goodness
for good neighbors who come to the rescue!
July 18, 2010:
During the club meeting, Al Broecker announced he had a few
"Thank You" note from two students of the EAA Air Camp,
Lauren and Emily Dunlap.

July 11, 2010:
Ten members of the Sky Ranch Flyers attended the Fly Electron's
Scale Festival.

John Malotky and Steve Klug won "Best
Flying Scale - Sport"
as they both took to the sky. Steve was flying his
Decathlon and John was
flying his Stearman. They did a beautiful formation flight
and "blew some smoke" with their coordinated loops and turns!
|
Tom Blackstone won
"Best Scale Scratch-Built" with his B-25C Mitchell, as
he did two flights - and guess what, no
nose wheel issues! |
July 10, 2010: Sky Ranch Member Randy Knapp attended
the Pebble Creek's Fun Fly and took a few pictures of the event.
